Printing#

A sheet can be printed which records the construction and the predicted results. There are 2 buttons associated with printing.

The first button, PrintingButton.png,when clicked will display a print dialog box which enables the user to do the usual selection of printer properties etc before sending the page to the printer.

In Windows 10 there is an inbuilt PDF printer. This is attached to this button PrintPDFButton.png, and will generate a PDF file of the printout

Users can insert their own logo into the printout.

Tip

The logo should be in the form of a bitmap file, named logo.bmp and stored in the INSUL folder, which is usually for Windows 7,10 (64 bit) systems:

C:\Users\{user name}\AppData\Roaming\Marshall Day Acoustics\Insul90

The size of the logo on the page will depend on the resolution of the printer and you should adjust the size of the logo (number of pixels) to get the printed size that you want. For a 300dpi printer, a logo that is 600 pixels wide would end up 50mm wide on the printed page. The logo should be about 600-1000 pixels wide and about 150-300 pixels high for most printers.

To activate the custom logo, open the Settings window, select the General tab and check on the box marked Use Custom Logo.

Note that users of Bluebeam pdf reader/writer must un-select Use Unicode Printing, otherwise the text is not displayed.

Detailed material properties can be printed, or not, as the user desires.

Font sizes#

The font sized used on the printout can be adjsuted from the Settings window.

Three font sizes are available, small, medium and large. Adjusting the font size can be of some assisstance, particularly for users running INSUL on macOS, as the printout font size can be variable.
